KMP 250P: secure, flexible, compatible

KUKA expands its AMR portfolio: The new KMP 250P mobile platform can transport goods and components weighing up to 250 kilograms and can be optionally equipped with a lifting unit. It meets the highest protection standards. In addition to cleanroom and ESD versions, the new “sleep mode” module makes automation even easier, even with large fleets.

August 28, 2025

With the KUKA AMR portfolio, which includes platforms with payloads of up to 3,000 kilograms, production keeps moving. High permeability is ensured by modularity, as the accessories and chargers for the KMP 250P are compatible with the KMP 600P and KMP 1500P platforms. The various platforms can be easily integrated into one fleet.

Easy to use: compatible and intuitive

The KMP 250P is compatible for use within one AMR fleet and can be intuitively controlled using the fleet manager KUKA.AMR Fleet and the standard communication interface VDA 5050. With the help of an extended “sleep mode,” even large fleets can be put into standby in a user-friendly manner. Thanks to its differential drive, the mobile platform is also highly flexible in terms of space. In addition to a conductive charging station, an inductive version is also available as an option – ensuring that the KMP 250P remains in operation without interruption.

360-degree protection for people and machines

Safety first: Two diagonally mounted laser scanners, combined with 3D cameras, provide 360-degree protection. If an obstacle is identified in the path, it can be bypassed automatically and safely if there is sufficient space, or the KMP 250P stops fully automatically. “This high standard is very important to us. It ensures both smooth cooperation between humans and robotics and the safe transport of goods,” says Clemens Lauble, Product Manager at KUKA.
Cleanroom and ESD versions enable use in special areas of application.

Coming in 2026: the KUKA AMR tugger

The platform will be available for order starting in December 2025. A new tugging option will be available from 2026. As a tugger, loads of up to 500 kilograms can be transported. In this variant, called the KMP 250P-T, the AMR docks onto transport trolleys from below and pulls them along.
