KUKA at the CMEF 2018
At the China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) from 11 to 14 April, KUKA will be presenting ideas on how robotic assistance systems with the LBR Med can support physicians and therapists. KUKA and Swisslog will be presenting themselves together at Booth A01 in Hall 5.1
The CMEF in Shanghai is one of the largest medical technology trade fairs in Asia. For KUKA, this is the perfect setting for showcasing new collaborative robotic applications for the healthcare sector. Visitors can experience the KUKA lightweight robot LBR Med in various applications – the world’s first CB Scheme certified robotic component for integration into medical products.
LBR Med – multi-medical features
The KUKA LBR Med has responsive joint torque sensors integrated in all seven axes. These endow the lightweight robot with contact detection capabilities and programmable compliance. As the first series-produced sensitive robot, it is suitable for human-robot collaboration and is opening up new areas that were previously closed to automation. At the CMEF, the LBR Med will be presented in a variety of applications. Visitors will be able to see the multi-functional robot in an ultrasound application and a trocar demonstration. Additionally the exhibit will showcase further features in order to demonstrate the diverse potential applications in which the lightweight robot can be used as a medical assistance system. Visitors will thus be able to experience the robot’s full range of capabilities.
